Senator Natalie Murdock represents District 20 (Durham and Chatham counties) in the North Carolina Senate. Sworn in 2020, she became the first Black woman under 40 to serve in the chamber. A Durham native and UNC-Chapel Hill alumna, she previously served as Deputy Director of Communications for the NC Department of Justice. Her legislative priorities include Black maternal health, equitable transportation, and environmental justice. She brings strategic communication and policy expertise to her leadership role in NOBEL Women.
