Annual Legislative Conference

The National Organization of Black-Elected Legislative Women’s Annual Legislative Conference (ALC) is the organization’s annual meeting where more than 300 Black women legislators join industry leaders and stakeholders to dialogue on legislative and policy issues impacting the Black community. The conference provides a Black women’s perspective on public policy with thought-provoking and educational policy forums, community education workshops, and policy briefs. This is a prime opportunity to participate in the dialog while showing support as an organization.

Girls, Gigabytes, & Gadgets

(3G), is an innovative, day-long series of workshops hosted by members designed to get young women and girls engaged in careers in science, technology, engineering, arts/ design, and mathematics. These events consist of multiple workshops featuring topics that range from app development to social media mastery to tech policy and have a straightforward message: women aren’t just to be users of technology, but creators, designers, influencers, and decision-makers as well.

Representative Lois DeBerry
Leadership Institute

NOBEL Women is the only network of Black women elected state legislators in the country, with NOBEL Women members collectively representing upwards of 20 million Americans. As a valuable voice for Black communities, NOBEL Women communicates the critical needs of Black constituencies to the media, legislatures, and government to affect change. Established in 2002, the NOBEL Women Leadership Institute (NOBEL Women Leadership Institute or the Institute) is a training program designed to help participants develop the expertise they need to become public leaders.

Equity And Social Justice
Policy Summit

The Equity and Social Justice Policy Summit is an invite‑only forum for Black women serving as chamber officers and committee chairs to exchange policy innovations and best practices. Held over three days in Montgomery, AL, it brings together policymakers, advocates, and thought leaders to address systemic inequities in education, healthcare, voting rights, and political representation. Participants engage in immersive breakout sessions and workshops led by national experts, gaining data‑driven frameworks and legislative blueprints. The summit culminates in a commemorative crossing of the Edmund Pettus Bridge, honoring civil rights history and reaffirming our commitment to justice. Attendees depart with a comprehensive toolkit of ready‑to‑implement policy resolutions and strengthened peer networks, equipped to drive meaningful change in their communities.

Rep. Gwen Moore Policy Breakfast

The Gwen Moore Policy Breakfast is an open to the public event for Black Legislative Leaders currently serving as a Chamber Officer (Speaker of the House, Senate President, Majority Leader, Minority Leader, Leaders Pro Tempore, etc) or Committee Chair to share policy ideas and trade best practices in implementing policies impacting the communities they serve. These educational programs, held in partnership with leading experts, are designed to give the legislative leaders objective information they need to make reasoned decisions on important public policy issues when they return to their respective states.
